We work with a sliding scale, both for production and research access. This allows us to collaborate on a wide range of projects and make our services accessible to organizations or individual creators that may normally be priced out of these nerdy passions.
ALL on location rentals are inclusive of our expertise on set!
In addition to the rates below, a contract/deposit for equipment damage is required though with our experts on set, this basically never happens – you’d have to try hard to damage our retro equipment with us standing by! This is part of why we always accompany any equipment or material on set – that and we want to make sure your production goes smoothly and you’re ready for any surprises!
Equipment Rental Rates
Our sliding scale day rate for console/equipment rental and our expert on set starts at $200/day.
Additional fees apply for extensive travel or large amounts of equipment – but the standard day rate will cover 1 console, a selection of original media, a backup for that console, whatever controllers or accessories or tools we need to make them work for your shoot, and one person on set. Also included is travel anywhere within NYC, unless a car is needed for the amount of gear.
Larger productions, big companies or studios will pay a bit higher on our sliding scale, but we’re quite reasonable. Sometimes this depends more on the length of each production day – get in touch with questions and be assured we’ll work something out!
Production Day Rates
Need photo/video work in addition to renting the equipment? We can help with your production for an additional $300-1000 a day depending on the requirements. You can use our staff as any sort of spare hands on set when we’re not actively monitoring our rental equipment – and we can come as a two person shooting team able to complete small projects ourselves.
Research Access
Research library access operates on an even more accessible sliding scale. Non-profit/academic access is free on certain pre-scheduled days (usually while we are hosting another event) and access for one day starts at as low as $50.
All research access includes our helpful staff on location working with you to find what you need in the library, record footage or stills if you need them, and so on.
Streaming/Production Access
If you’d like to use our facilities to produce content for your social media, to hold a streaming event (say if your twitch subscribers want to see you and another creator try 30 different fighting games in one day or other similar special events), our facilities are available with the sliding scale starting at $200/day. For example, having four streamers here would cost more, hosting a non-profit fundraising drive might be at the bottom of the sliding scale.
